The Standard Bureau of Mines Dew Point Tester uses chilled-mirror technology to accurately and reliably measure the moisture (water) or hydrocarbon dew point temperature of any gas and does not require calibration.
Designed specifically to determine the dew point temperature of natural gas within a pipeline, the device meets the ASTM D1142 industry standard and can accurately detect the dew point temperature of both moisture (water) and hydrocarbon.
The dew point tester is entirely manual, with the operator acting as the ‘detector,’ controlling the rate of mirror cooling and reading the indicated temperature on the thermometer when dew forms on the mirror.
