Adsorbable organic halogens (AOX) are organic compounds containing halides such as chlorine, bromine, or iodine. Some of these compounds are toxic to humans and marine life. Like mercury, AOX can concentrate up the food chain.
Specified by ISO 9562 (and EPA 1650 in the US), AOX analysis measures the quantity of halides present in water samples. The Nuclepore AOX analysis filter meets the specifications for a filter per these methods.
